Review of Episode 4:

I love How It's Made; it's probably my favorite show ever produced. Being a computer technician I enjoy episodes where circuit boards, electronics and such are put together. I was a little disappointed with how hurried the segment was on hard disk drives was.

First of all, why call title it "External hard drives?" An internal and external hard drives are identical except an external one has extra circuitry to act as a data bridge between the hard drive and the computer, and a protective housing. They didn't include ANY footage or mention of the process of assembly of an external drive housing. It should be titled "Rotational Hard Drives."

I would have preferred to forgo one (or more) of the other demonstrations to be released in a different episode for more time spent on the creation of hard drives. There was no footage about how the controller card and read head work together to store information magnetically, and how it...

Still The Best!
How It's Made remains one of my Top-5 shows of all time!! If you like documentaries that keep your interest, it's for you!! Love it!!

If curiosity is your bent, some good stuff here.
Limited in scope but most illuminating regarding those subjects covered. I learned a thing or two, but that not surprising I suspect.
