Stuck in the Middle [Blu-ray]

A great take on office and religious life
Stuck in the Middle is a great little independent film that does a tremendous job of capturing mundane office life using Purgatory as the setting. The lead character Michael is a lazy mail room worker who gets a bit to experimental after a night of drinking and winds up dead and in Purgatory. And his afterlife is no different as he has to work in the mail room there too. St. Peter has been demoted and now works in Purgatory. I thought this was a great twist having Peter and Jesus have a falling out over business deals. And having Jesus as a spoiled, son of the Boss was brilliant!! I guess you could call this a romantic comedy as Michael falls for his boss, but it never gets sappy and the back and forth between the two leads was really good. The plot is pretty basic but the strength of this film lies on the acting and writing. The characters are well thought out, funny and all the actors are well cast and do a great job. Funny and Original Movie
As a practicing Catholic I was very intrigued by the concept of this movie. The afterlife, Purgatory, St. Peter and Jesus all are big parts of this movie and while I was prepared to be offended, I found myself laughing out loud. The Jesus and Ronald Reagan characters are fantastic as is the rest of the actors. There are so many funny lines and outrageous references, plus there is a really entertaining and charming love story in there too. Stuck in the Middle was a very pleasant, funny surprise.

Highly Recommended
I just finished watching Stuck in the Middle and wanted to write a review while it was still fresh in my mind. I really enjoyed this movie, it had me laughing all the way through. Everyone was really funny and using Purgatory as an office setting was a terrific idea. I have worked in many offices so I totally understood what they were going for here. I recommend getting this movie. It is really funny and you will not be disappointed.
