I think the tigers got off easy
I was so glad when this movie finally came out on dvd. I'm also glad that Amazon had it for sale because I couldn't seem to find it in any store that sold videos. So without hesitation, I ordered it immediately.
When I first sat down to watch it, while I was eating dinner incidentally, I wasn't sure what to make of it at first. One reviewer wrote on the cover of the video box, that this movie was like a cross between, "The Big Chill" and "The Royal Tenenbaums". Now I can kind of, kind of mind you, see a few similarities with "The Big Chill". Although in that film the characters hadn't seen each other in a long time and plus the only reason they reunited is because one of their own had committed suicide. Plus, that was a better film, but that goes without saying. In this movie, it's only been a year since they last saw each other. Now that I think about it I can also see how they would compare this to, "The Royal Tenenbaums". In that film, the family unit was dysfunctional,...
Strange and compelling story of dysfunctional gathering
Here are some siblings, friends, rivals, and lovers gathered at various times in the home of the siblings' parents, getting a lot of vitriol out as they hash out their differences and major life decisions. More interesting than it may sound and well acted.
