Sukey's Circle! Vol. 3: Mini-Shows

LOVED IT
When first watching Sukey's Circle Volume 3 DVD I noticed it has a 1970's vibe that I adore! All the content throughout the videos are handmade and you can there is a childlike imagination to how it was created. This makes it easy for young children to understand and absorb. Most children's shows today have lost a certain magic they used to have because they are over stimulating to the senses. Sukeys Circle contains incredible songs, animations and puppets. It is everything a children's show should be.
I am impressed with Sukey Molloy's camera presence. She is very playful and has a voice that can suck you into her world within seconds. As an adult viewer I was taken back in time to my childhood years and I couldn't help but smile and giggle watching her. My favorite video is "Twinkle Little Star" a about a curious little star and his great grandfather star.
I definitely recommend anyone with kids go out and buy this DVD. Sukey Molloy truly understands how to...

Baby Approved!
I was introduced to Sukey's Circle by my 18 month old daughter squealing with delight any time a mini segment appeared on the BabyFirst television channel. My daughter loves the soothing nature of each of the segments and the inviting ease at which each topic flows. The length of each mini-show is ideal and keeps my daughter happily engaged from one mini-show to the next. I found myself really appreciating Sukey's deliberate movements and thoughtful performances which illustrate her professional dance experience and studies in developmental movement. We're looking forward to pre-ordering the next dvd of mini-shows the moment it becomes available.

Lovely
This is great for babies/toddlers. There are "mini" episodes which feature Sukey and her cast of characters (Sunny, Tick Toc). Sukey's voice and songs are friendly, engaging, and gentle and she is such a warm presence that my children always respond by singing along with her! I love how interactive these videos are and highly recommend these to families with small children.

Love Me Tender [Blu-ray]

Introducing Elvis...
"Love Me Tender" is the touching tale of brotherly love, and the after effects of war. It is also the film that introduces Elvis to us as an actor. Although not his best screen work(he gets better in later films), it's very much worth the view, just to be serenaded by him throughout the film, and his moving rendition of "Love Me Tender" will put a lump in your throat and have you humming it for days after.

Richard Egan, William Campbell, and James Drury are the three older Reno Brothers who have been off fighting in the Civil War for four years. They are fighting for the Confederates, and not knowing the war has ended, have robbed the Northern Army's payroll, with all intentions of turning it over to the cause of the South. When they find out the war is over, they earnestly figure it is the "spoils of war" and divvy it up with the other men in their group. They happily return home, and Vance(Egan) is especially anticipating reuniting with the girl he left behind, the...

B&W or color?
I bought mine and it's in black and white, not colorized as the store claims to be. So I would give all the stores selling this item as colorized version a zero star!!!!

Not really an Elvis movie, but a good Civil War western
Ok I'm no big fan of Elvis, I know his music, (an American can't help but know it.) Its good music, but I don't own a song of his. I don't claim to be a follower of his movies either, but this one is a western and I AM a follower of westerns and Civil War movies and this passes well.

This movie brings it highs and lows. A trio of brothers fresh from a raid of a Union payroll find out that the war is over on their way to turn in the money to their General with the unit. Their commander Vance (the eldest brother) decides there is no Confederate Government to turn the cash in to. They split the dough and head home. The family gets a shock that they are alive when they were told they were dead, while he gets a shock which the girl we was to marry is wed to his younger brother (Elivs).

The plot twists when the Union army decides that to come after the former raiders, causing splits among the raiders and increasing the tension between the brothers. The movie is more than...

Black Rock

Cant remember watching it!
From what i remember it is a good Sunday afternoon watch.
I liked it.
Not the greatest but very good.

tmann
This was a great movie, I was surprise by Lake Bell to make this type of movie, all I can say go buy this movie.

Exciting edge of your seat thriller!
Where the females finally prevail. This is your typical jealous drunk girl, wanting all the males attention. And eventually biting off more than she wanted. I enjoyed this movie being a female, and of course wanting the men to get what they deserved. Worth renting!

The Bone Snatcher [HD]

Good Story With Potential, But Falls A Little Short
I've seen plenty of movies like this one. It has a neat story line in it, but for the obvious reasons that hinder B-movies, it falls short of its potential. "The Bone Snatcher" starts off well enough, with three miners being attacked and stripped of their flesh by some "thing." A group seeks out the three missing individuals and come upon two of their skeletal remains. The third member of the party is accused of murder by one of the search party members. Tracking his footprints, they find his remains as well. They decide to hunt down the real murderer, which leads to a classic B-movie scenario of the team members being picked off one-by-one as the group slowly comes to realize what they are chasing. Though this is considered a horror film, there isn't much to horrify you in this picture.

The actual "Bone Snatcher" creature looks pretty good considering there probably wasn't much of a budget for the flick. Most of the acting is done in a very stiff fashion, though a...

Derivative but highly atmospheric horror
**spoilers**

OK, so the serious horror/sci-fi buff will recognise numerous hat-tips or rip-offs during the Bone Snatcher (Them, Alien, The Thing, Blair Witch, Forbidden Planet, Tremors and many more spring to mind), but it still pulls the right strings and certainly is a well-made, entertaining and memorable movie.

A sandy desolation is not an overused scenario for this genre and I found it made for a delightfully evocative and creepy backdrop to this hefty dollop of grand guignol gore.

The entity, being constructed from human remains is cadaverously grotesque when it finally makes an appearance, and its method of infecting the humans (especially the unfortunate Titus and the poor guy in the sleeping bag) is suitably nasty.

The pace of the move is spot on; an opening shock gives way to a measured section devoted to scene-setting and characterisation, before the real gore-fest begins.

Reasonable acting (although some of the...

Better than expected.
I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. My expectation for watching this was to suffer through bad acting and bad storyline just to get to "the monster". By setting the story in the desert, the production value was spent on the CGI monster and better actors than I thought would appear in a movie like this. To be sure, this is a "B movie", but it performs as well as some of hollywood's mainstream offerings. The cast are all Australian/British and unlike Mad Max or Crocodile Dundee do not have super "over-the-top" personalities. The other movies tend to make you focus on the accents and mannerisms in an attempt to add some value to their storyline. The plot is pretty straightforward: Specualtors in the desert uncover something nasty and get killed. Some reseachers happen upon them and then the fun begins... There are only one or two "cliche" moments in this movie, (the awkward boy-girl kiss) & ("i can't kill the monster, I'm a scientist and I must STUDY it" *hoofa*) which is...

God's Little Acre

Pushing The Limits
Perhaps one seeing this film for the first time, in this day and age, will not realize just how racy this picture was when it was produced (in 1958). I watch it now, and I still can't believe that they "got away with it". The picture, a yarn concerning a Georgia hayseed family, took the "Ma And Pa Kettle" concept to new heights!

The gist of the story is that Ti-Ti, and his strapping sons, are digging for his pappy's gold, which, legend has it, is buried somewhere on their Georgia farm. They've been digging in the ground for fifteen years.....and haven't found anything yet. The characters seem, to me, to be the basis for the Clampetts on the Beverly Hillbillies........especially Darlin' Jill (who surely was the model for Ellie Mae).

The picture includes one of the hottest forbidden love scenes to ever be committed to celuloid (between Tina Louise and Aldo Ray). This was back in the days when things had to be creatively SUGGESTED (to avoid censorship). Things are different today,...

Scandalous in the 1950s, still worth a watch
Released in 1958, Anthony Mann's God's Little Acre caused a scandal in theaters and was even banned in many places. Now 50 years later, the DVD format lets viewers see what they may have missed. In 1930s rural Georgia, Ty Ty Walden and his family live on a farm, barely scraping by. Ty Ty was told by his great grandfather there's gold buried on the farm, and he's convinced it's still there. Helped out by his sons, he's been digging for 15 years without luck. The gold story serves as a jumping off point for the rest of the story, the relationships and dynamics of Ty Ty's family. Directed by Anthony Mann, this is a beautifully shot movie, in more ways than one, as the story of the Walden family develops. The relationships are real, the love and hot believable as Ty Ty tries to find the gold while also continuing to be able to live. It's not a well-known movie, but it's an enjoyable movie, if for nothing else than to see what all the scandal was about. It seems tame compared to...

They don't make movies like this anymore!
Review are you kidding, they just don't make movies like this anymore. Two plots going on at the same time the main being a treasure hunt which causes men to test what their true treasure is and the love story which for its time was almost scandelous. This is a good old fashhion movie. Did I say good. I mean great.

The Fartiste (1987) / That Voodoo You Do (2012)

Something stinks
Yep this movie is pretty stinky. I dont see why so many like it. I worked about a week on the film. I played one of the henchmen for the bad guy in the park. I am the one in the tree. I was also in the bakery scene and in the dream squences, but it seems the scenes I did in the dream section were cut out. Plus i dont see myself in the cake scene, though I know I was there when they filmed it. Plus some of the other stuff we did in the park. A number of the other gags in the park were cut. Plus the whole walking up and confronting Pataki in the park was cut. There was a scene with the bad guy walking up to Pataki with his henchmen and that whole part is not in it. The park sequence was filmed up near Dodger stadium. I didnt get paid for this, we were all told the money ran out. Even Pataki didnt get paid and it stuck in his craw afterwards. I heard him bitch many a time about it. I thought this film died and was never going to see the light of day. BTW, an interesting...

stupid fun
not my cup of tea, but still made me laugh. eileen brennan is, as she always was, hilarious & perfect. this is guy humor on laughing gas.

It's a GAS!
This is an unusual but very funny show...Not many people are aware of this true to life phenomenon that existed in the vaudeville era,pre-dating Howard Stern's FARTMAN character by many decades. If this kind of silly humor sounds like it's right UP YOUR A..lley, then take the plunge(r)and get it! So... grab some air freshener (in case you choose to spontaneously participate) and get ready for the fireworks!

G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Don't have high expectations, entertaining
I don't get the low reviews on this, people complaining about the story and the acting...? I saw the first one, so my expectations for this were low. I went into this expecting to see over-the-top action, corny lines, and explosions. The movie delivered. If you want deep storyline and meaningful conversations, then you should go see another flick. If you want to see people get blown up, then watch this.

Just. Plain. Fun...
Let's be clear that "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" is an action movie based on a comic book and a toy action figure. It features virtually non-stop action, some terrific special effects, and a comic book plot. This is not "Patton" or "The Ten Commandments" or even "Die Hard." It is a fun, no-brainer movie in which the good guys eventually win and the bad guys eventually lose, but some of the bad guys escape to set up the next movie.

As the movie opens, the GI Joes, an elite American special operations combat unit, are in action, securing some loose Pakistani nuclear weapons from insurgents in a superb action sequence inside a military facility. However, the Joes are framed by the President, who is really an impersonator planted by the terrorist organization Cobra. The fake President sends a military strike after the Joes, wiping out the unit. The Cobra organization liberates its imprisoned leader and executes its clever plan to take over the world.

Fortunately,...

Gi Joe Retaliation 3D Review
This 3D review is intended for those with 3DTVs and/or fans of 3D.

GI Joe Retaliation was originally meant to be released during summer 2012, but was delayed till March 29, 2013 to be converted into 3D. So did they have enough time to make the 3D worth our time and frustration (of GI Joe fans) having to wait even longer to see the movie in theaters?

Absolutely. The 3D is very powerfully rendered in GI Joe Retaliation. This is not a half baked 3D effort as many of the earlier, hurried 3D conversions of films like Clash of the Titans' poor 3D. The 3D here offers unexpectedly outstanding dimension and depth in many of the cool action scenes, coupled with a generous amount of pop outs. It's been said the Snake Eyes scene was noteworthy (with Snake Eyes portrayed on the Blu Ray 3D cover), and indeed it is as the 3D gives that scene depth the likes of which are rarely seen in conversions. Thankfully the rest of the movie holds up well in 3D.

3D Overall:...
